Must Resist

We have been in our current apartment about 10 months now. Long enough we got the notice about changes in rent and if we want to stay longer than a year. We lucked out with our apartment. We have a 1 bed plus den, 1 bath, with washer/dryer, and all newly remodeled with new appliances. Ground level even. It was very lucky for us to have captured it. Now, apparently, the company wants to advertise our apartment as a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, with washer/dryer, remodeled. This is making our rent go up about $50 a month (or so). More than we want to pay, more than we have in our intended budget, and not for anything too special. We began searching the ads, and long story short, we ran into an even better deal. Cheaper for more square footage! Yippee! We won't be ground level, and that's the real downside (except from the prospect of physically moving.)
On our search, we utilized internet, for rent pamphlets, friends, driving, and the newspaper. We were looking for anything, townhome, apartment, house for rent, ...anything within our specific budget, and in Omaha! So the reason I'm telling you all about this, was not only did Sammy enjoy all the car rides but when looking in the newspaper we found a very, very, very tempting ad.

Have you guessed it? There was an ad for Pembroke Welsh Corgis for just $250, and came with AKC papers and shots! Oh man. I even took it home with us. As much as I want a little corgi puppy, and want to know more about this ad (how legit it is, all the details) not only can we not afford it in our undertaking, but I really believe that Sammy is not ready to share our attention. I really think he is quite happy to be an only dog, and if he could voice his opinion, he would tell us, "No Ma, not right now."
Still, I can't help but think about what it would be like. How Sammy would protect him/her (Oscar/Holly). How the pup would wrestly on Sammy. How the pup and Sammy would struggle with sleeping arrangements in bed. How they would learn to gang up on me and give me 4 puppy eyes for yum yums. Trying to drive in the car with both, and only one window to stick their head out of. Taking them both to Christmas in Axtell. Both frolicking in the snow, or autumn leaves. Them FRAPing together. And the list goes on and on. All of which settle in this little image:

However, I do think that I will be calling them and telling them, although we are not interested at this time, if they could please contact us with future litters. And maybe catching a couple details about this one to make sure everything is on the up and up (for future purposes!).

  1. I feel your pain :) As much as I'd love another one, I just don't think I'm ready for 2! And I think Gibson would be totally jealous... *le sigh* :)

  2. Congrats on finding a new place! And wow, that puppy does sound tempting (love how you already picked out names haha). Let us know what you find out! But yeah, it would probably be better once you're settled in a new place? I know Sadie will never let me get another pup, but it would be fun!

  5. Get the puppy! This is the perfect time for Sammy to have a sibling - he is still a pup and this is when they'll bond while they play and spill all over the apartment together! There is no better time!
